This viewpoint lives up to its name by offering one of the most expansive and rewarding views on the South Rim, situated at a high elevation of nearly 7,400 feet. From this historic vantage point on Desert View Drive, you are treated to a massive east-to-west panorama that showcases a multitude of prominent buttes, colorful canyons, and distant glimpses of the winding Colorado River, particularly near the confluence of Tanner and Unkar Creeks.
