Visit Grand Canyon During Winter

The South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park is open year round and so is Red Feather Lodge.

Many people feel that winter is the best time of the year to visit Grand Canyon National Park because you can enjoy all the same services without the summertime crowds.   Average high temperatures in the winter are in the mid 40’s but if you are hiking in the canyon you can expect temperatures at the bottom to be about 20 degrees warmer.

The South Rim does get some snow, but roads are plowed and most trails are open.
You can expect to find many activities open in the winter:
  •   Hiking and Biking
  •   Visitor Centers and education
  •   Air and Jeep tours
  •   The IMAX Theater
  •   Dining and Shopping choices

Come and visit us November thru February to experience the beauty of the canyon in winter , cooler temperatures and fewer visitors.
