What You Will See

This viewpoint offers one of the most comprehensive and awe-inspiring panoramic views on the South Rim, providing an unobstructed vista that stretches for miles both east and west. From the rim-side observation station, your gaze plunges into the canyon's immense depth, where you can see the distinctive geological layers laid out like a massive timeline and catch glimpses of the Colorado River glinting nearly a mile below. Look directly across the gorge to the North Rim, and you'll see the entrance of Bright Angel Canyon carved into the cliff face. What makes this viewpoint unique is the Yavapai Geology Museum (also called the Observation Station), which is perched right on the rim.
