Spring Break Crowd Advisory:

Spring Break season brings peak South gate entry hours at the South Rim Grand Canyon, especially from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

To avoid delays:

  • Arrive early in the morning, or
  • Take the scenic route and enter through the East Entrance near Cameron, AZ, enjoying Desert View Watchtower and panoramic canyon views along the way.

The Tusayan–Grand Canyon Greenway Trail offers a mostly paved, scenic route connecting Tusayan to the Grand Canyon Visitor Center inside GCNP.

During the summer months (Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend), the NPS shuttle bus operates between Grand Canyon National Park and Tusayan, providing a convenient alternative to driving and parking.

September – October

September brings warm mornings and sunny afternoons, with temperatures gradually cooling into October. Fall highlights the changing colors in surrounding forests, creating picture-perfect views along trails and overlooks.
